Your Guide to the Fall Meet at Keeneland 2018

As one of the richest and most prestigious races meets of the year, Keeneland’s Fall Meet draws in remarkable horses and the sport’s top jockeys to compete for the sport’s highest accolades.  The Fall Meet will show many top contenders seeking the Breeders’ Cup at Churchill Downs.

What you need to know

There are scheduled to be six Grade 1 races, six Grade 2 races, and five Grade 3 races. This year marks the award record reaching $5.75 million in stakes purses, compared to last years $5.325 million. The newest “Win and You’re In” race the Indian Summer. The race is a 5 ½ furlong on the turf for 2-year-olds worth $200,000, awarding the winner with automatic entry into the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint. Fall Meet 2018 Schedule

The entire event kicks off with the Fall Stars Weekend on October 5th, 2018 with the last race on October 27th, 2018. The Breeders’ Cup challenge series races are scheduled for Saturday, October 6th and Sunday, October 7th, with another race on Wednesday, October 10th.
