Commonwealth Stadium

A staple of Lexington college football, Commonwealth Stadium at the University of Kentucky is a top-notch facility known for its massive seating capacity and giant video boards—one of the largest scoreboard systems in the country.

No less memorable are the games it’s hosted: the 2003 Arkansas vs. Kentucky is tied for being the longest football game ever played, while the “Bluegrass Miracle” is still noted as one of the game’s most improbable finishes. Both events, unfortunately, did not end in the Wildcats’ favor—however, the team has played in 15 bowl games, of which they have won eight.

The team’s season runs from late August through November, but Commonwealth Stadium and the University’s other locations are always available for touring. To visit, you’ll need to fill out one of their forms at least two days in advance.

Make a game or tour of Commonwealth Stadium part of your next visit to Bluegrass Extended Stay.
