Local Lexington Attractions

Bluegrass Extended Stay is happy to provide our recommended Lexington parks. Whether you’re looking for a softball field, picnic area or a place to relax, Lexington has something for everyone.

Jacobson Park

4001 Athens-Boonesboro Road, Lexington, Kentucky 40509 
Located just down the road from Bluegrass Extended Stay, Jacobson Park is the city’s most popular park. At 216 acres, it’s packed with recreational offerings including a marina where you can rent a small boat or paddleboat. There’s also a basketball court, picnic shelters, a playground, restrooms, four volleyball courts,  a dog park and more. Like fishing? There are plenty of fishing docks  to cast your line and catch a big one. 

Woodland Park

601 E. High Street, Lexington, Kentucky 40502 
This park is a skater’s dream, with 12,000 square feet of ramps, platforms, bowls, and pipes. Not so great with a skateboard? The park also includes an aquatic center, baseball and softball fields, a basketball court, a gazebo, shelters, a horseshoe pit, and a playground. They also special events throughout the year, including the Woodland Art Fair and Ballet Under the Stars. It’s open year-round for your enjoyment! 

Castlewood Park

201 Castlewood Drive, Lexington, Kentucky 40505 
This park near downtown is one of Lexington’s oldest, but it has similar amenities to some of its newer counterparts. On its 32 acres, you’ll find an aquatic center, a basketball court, a baseball/softball field, a community center with a gym, a playground, a horseshoe pit, and tennis courts. 

Masterson Station Park

3051 Leestown Road, Lexington, KY 40511 
At 660 acres, this park in West Lexington is often used for horse shows, soccer tournaments, and organized walks. Visiting in May? You’ll find the Bluegrass Classic Stock Dog Trials, which bring the best border collies and handles in the nation to Lexington. If you’re staying at our extended stay during the summer, check out the annual Lexington Lions Bluegrass Fair. Typically held in June or July the fair is packed with food, rides,  music, and more!
